education is the great equalizer
The Solution: The Monarch Effect Foundation makes higher education a reality through sponsorship, mentoring, and community engagement. We exist to create a future where every inspired, motivated, and talented young student living in Los Cabos can unlock their full potential, has the opportunity and choice to attend top schools both in Mexico and abroad, and has community resources to support them.
The Students: We identify high-achieving students in high school whose families do not have the necessary financial resources to send them to university (even if they have tuition scholarships).

The Program: The Monarch Effect Foundation does not just hand out financial support scholarships. Together with the parents and our community, we act as mentors for our students, provide life-coaching, seminars, workshops and one-on-one time to prepare them and support them throughout their study program. Every student and parent has "skin in the game", responsibility and accountability to the foundation.
Giving Back: The students and their families make a commitment to help support the long-term sustainability of the foundation with post graduation financial contributions and return of service as mentors and ambassadors. Together we work to interconnect the greater Los Cabos community as a foundation network providing other mentoring resources, information, internships, and job experience. Our goal is to build a strong, skilled class of professional young adults stepping from their school careers back into to their home community to complete the circle and ensure longevity of the programs and scholarships.
Currently, we sponsor 16 students from Los Cabos with scholarships.
We have 27 students in our mentorship program and we need your help to get them to their dreams at school.

We’re in the Running for the .ORG Impact Awards!
We’ve submitted our story to the 2025 .ORG Impact Awards, an international recognition for organizations making a real difference in their communities.
Our proposal, "Breaking Barriers: Higher Education for Every Deserving Student", highlights the work we’re doing to support middle-class students in Los Cabos—those who are often left out of both government aid and traditional scholarships.
We applied in the Quality Education for All category. If selected, we’d gain global visibility, new funding opportunities, and the chance to grow our impact even further.

As a mentor, your experiences and life achievements can provide guidance, advice, academic and career development insight, and support students in critical study and life decisions.
