The foundation's commitment to "pay it forward" and community-building philosophies resonates deeply within me. I accept these principles wholeheartedly and envision myself contributing to the Monarch Effect Foundation movement through psychology.
This can take various forms, such as research and data analysis, development and evaluation, campaigns, training and capacity building, crisis intervention and support, policy and program consultation, community engagement and partnerships, technology and innovation, public speaking and education, grant writing and fundraising, policy advocacy, media, and communication.
I look forward to being an active participant in initiatives that promote positive change and encourage those, like me, who aspire to make a difference in the world. The foundation's philosophy aligns with my own belief in the power of education to create lasting impact and I am excited at the prospect of being part of this movement.
I have a deeply rooted and passionate interest in helping others. The program's reputation for research, excellence, and the curriculum aligns with my academic and professional aspirations at the University of New York in Prague.

May 2025
Hello, dear readers! May began with an unexpected challenge… I fell ill during the first days of the month, and I was completely alone. At first, I managed to take care of myself, but eventually, I had to be rushed to the hospital. Thankfully, I recovered very quickly. The whole experience was intense but eye-opening. It reminded me how important it is to listen to our bodies, stay calm, and not be afraid to ask for help. I came out of it feeling stronger, more grounded, and more grateful for my health.
Once I felt better, I completed the AI for Everyone course by DeepLearning.AI. It was fascinating! Guided by Andrew Ng, the course explains artificial intelligence in a way that’s simple, accessible, and deeply relevant to our everyday lives. What surprised me most is how much AI can help solve real problems, not just in tech, but in healthcare, education, and beyond. It gave me a fresh perspective on the future, and I’m now even more curious to continue learning in this area.
I also started playing pickleball this month! It’s such a fun and energizing sport—a mix between tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It’s been a great way to stay active, clear my mind, and connect with new people. I never expected to enjoy it this much!
Lastly, I’ve been learning a lot about the visa process. In the beginning, I was very lost—I had no idea what I was doing. But with time, research, and patience, I now understand every step clearly. It’s been a journey of growth and empowerment, and I hope to support others going through the same process in the future.
To close the month, the last day of May brought rain, a beautiful, rare moment in Cabo. Soon everything will be green again. A perfect reminder that after tough times, renewal always comes. Thanks for reading, and see you in June!
April 2025
Hello, dear readers! April has been a month of meaningful growth and learning, and I’m excited to share what I’ve been up to.
This month, I dove into The Obstacle Is the Way by Ryan Holiday, a book that explores Stoicism through a fresh, modern lens. The central idea is simple yet powerful: adversity isn't something to avoid, it's a necessary part of growth. Holiday illustrates this through historical and modern figures who used setbacks as stepping stones, not roadblocks. From Roman emperors to today’s athletes, the message is clear: strength is built through challenge. Reading it has shifted my mindset, I'm learning to see obstacles as opportunities to grow, stay grounded, and move forward with intention.
Another major highlight this month was starting an online course called "AI for everyone" (emphasis on showing that AI is not only for engineers). It’s designed for people from all backgrounds to understand artificial intelligence. So far, I’ve learned the basics of AI terminology, like machine learning, neural networks, and deep learning, as well as how to recognize real-world problems that AI can help solve.
One thing I’ve enjoyed is seeing how AI can be used in practical, non-technical ways. I even mapped out how I could use simple AI tools to better organize tasks and projects. The course also touched on ethics and responsibility, which got me thinking more deeply about the importance of transparency and fairness in technology.
Looking ahead, I plan to continue the AI course and start a small project applying what I’ve learned. I also want to keep reading more about Stoicism, possibly diving into Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.
April has reminded me that growth often comes from challenges. Thank you for following along, and here’s to turning obstacles into opportunities in the months ahead!
March 2025
Hello, dear readers! This March has been very productive and filled with important learning experiences. I started the month with hard work and dedication, successfully completing my Psychology course at Yale with excellent grades. It has been an invaluable experience that has allowed me to expand my knowledge and strengthen my academic skills.
In addition to this course, I’ve been taking intensive math classes in preparation for the SAT exam. Every class helps me review fundamental concepts and solve practice problems that could appear on my university entrance exam. I’m committed to maximizing my preparation to face any academic challenge that comes my way.
A very exciting moment this month was being accepted into the University of New York in Prague, an amazing institution that will provide me with the opportunity to earn a double degree, both European and American. I’m incredibly excited about this new chapter, as it represents not only an academic achievement but also a unique international experience. The high-quality education and global focus of this university are a fantastic opportunity to deepen my studies and prepare for future challenges.
Although there were important family events this month, such as the family reunion on March 14 and my cousin’s wedding on the 15th, I made sure to maintain balance and make the most of every study moment. I was particularly focused on keeping up with my studies and ensuring that my assignments and projects met my high expectations.
This month, I also began reading 12 Rules for Life by Jordan B. Peterson, a book that has greatly inspired me. Peterson’s teachings on discipline, responsibility, and integrity have helped me reflect on how to apply these values to my academic and personal life. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a structured and thoughtful approach to improving their daily life.
I’m very grateful for everything I’ve achieved this month and for the continuous support I’ve received. I’m excited for what the future holds and for everything still to come.
January 2024
Hello, dear readers! Working at One & Only Palmilla has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. It was my first official job, and while it started off chaotically (with missing uniforms and no clear instructions) my amazing team quickly made me feel at home. Their warmth, patience, and support taught me the value of teamwork, resilience, and kindness in the workplace.
One of the biggest lessons I learned is that growth happens when we step out of our comfort zones. “La vie commence là où commence ta zone d’inconfort”, “life begins at the end of your comfort zone“ a phrase that stuck with mw from The Five AM Club. Even the most challenging situations can lead to personal and professional development if we approach them with the right mindset.
Each person left a lasting impact on me, not just as coworkers but as people who inspired me daily. The lessons I’ve learned at Palmilla will stay with me as I continue preparing for university and striving through psychology.
Now, as I continue preparing for university and exploring scholarship opportunities, I feel more confident and ready to face new challenges. This job was more than just work, it was a stepping stone toward becoming the person I aspire to be. I’m grateful for every lesson learned, every friendship made, and every challenge overcome.
Thank you for following my journey. I’m excited for what’s next, and I hope my story inspires others, the way it inspires me) to embrace new experiences with courage and an open heart. Rien ne m’arrête! Nothing stops me!
November and December 2024
Bonjour chers lecteurs, aujourd'hui est un grand jour pour le succès!! Good morning, dearest readers! Today is a great day to achieve success. I continue with my French classes and I am getting closer to my goal. While working on getting a good scholarship, I also got a job at One and Only Palmilla. Today was my second day and, although the hotel is impeccable in organization, my experience was chaotic: they couldn't find my uniform and no one gave me instructions, which made me nervous. Then I started to feel sick and couldn't rest for several hours. Fortunately, my teammates gave me a warm welcome with a revitalizing orange, carrot and ginger juice, and promised that I am on the best team. Additionally, regarding my studies, I was accepted at the Universidad Anáhuac de Mérida, a recognized institution. Mérida is a safe city, culturally rich and with incredible people. Each step teaches me something new, and I feel ready to continue my learning and begin this new stage. Plus rien ne m'arrête maintenant! Nothing stops me anymore!
October 2024
Bonjour chers lecteurs!! (Good day dear readers!!) This last month my focus has been on my French lessons. I love a challenge, and as a high achiever I love diving into a world different from mine. This month I got my results from my English Test and two acceptance letters from universities from Canada, I satisfactorily met all the goals I set for the month. I can’t wait to help students like me send their applications for university. This month I read the new edition of the “Manual of Urbanity and Good Manners” by Manuel Antonio Carreño. It is described as “an exquisite reference work”, I would describe it as a “must read”, to know how to behave appropriately according to a specific situation, facilitating harmonious interpersonal relationships and generating a positive impression on others. J’aime apprendre, chaque jour est une opportunité de le faire. Ne laissez pas à demain ce que vous pouvez faire aujourd'hui! (I love learning, everyday we have the opportunity to do so. Don’t leave for tomorrow what you can do today)
August 2024
Hello! This past month has been full of enriching experiences. I've been taking virtual French classes and am on the lookout for in-person lessons in San José. A highlight was visiting Isla Espíritu Santo and El Mogote, where I learned about their fascinating history, flora, and fauna.
I've also been working on a surprise project with the foundation, which I can't wait to share with you all. Additionally, I've been moved by the inspiring book "Speaking While Being Female," provided by the foundation. It's one of those reads that stirs deep emotions and brings tears to your eyes.
I look forward to sharing more updates soon! See you later!!

Regarding my feelings on graduating high school, I feel proud and satisfied. The thrill of recognizing the power of knowledge moves me. Knowing everything I've learned so far is just a fraction of what I can achieve motivates me to set ambitious goals and to strive to accomplish them. Additionally the thought of sharing and applying what I learn to improve someone's life fuels my passion for studying psychology.
As I mentioned before, I have set my goals high. As you read this I am preparing myself by studying a third language, aiming to study in my dream location, and aspiring to reach a globally competitive level.
My goals during this period are:
Gain work experience through internships and jobs.
Volunteer and engage in community service.
Develop new skills like learning french and obtaining certifications first aid and project management
Pursue personal projects, such as exploring my artistic side.
Prepare for college, through pre college programs
Focus on health and well being both physical and mental fitness
This time my dreams will not remain just dreams.
